    Default Suggestions for a novice

    I signed up hoping to get excellent and quick suggestions about the best radar detector on the market. Based on some threads I've read, I know there will be regular members lamenting a novice jumping into serious discussions about the intricacies of radar detectors and jammers. To those members, I apologize for my simple question.

    I recently bought a BMW M5 and think it is finally time to invest in the best radar detector available. My purposes are simple: I routinely drive 100 mph on the interstate; I often pass in the right lane and maneuver to the left between close but slower moving vehicles; I'm an excellent driver with many years experience--never received a speeding or other traffic violation in 30 years driving.

    While I enjoy driving nice cars I have never looked into radar detectors. I'm ready to buy the best available radar detector on the market and would appreciate your input. Thanks.

    The consensus best RD on the market is the Escort 9500ci. It's definitely the most sensitive along with it's cousin, the Bel STi-R, which uses the exact same radar antenna.

    Where do you live?

    Do you understand the difference between radar and laser and how to beat each?

    You just seriously contradicted yourself.

    Did you always drive like that, or only after hitting your mid-life crisis?

    Or some basic understanding of the Courts and Vehicle Code for your particular State

    100mph+ is commonly confused as 'wreckless driving' in California, it's actually just an infraction;

    And upon a fourth conviction, you get double-secret probation, and a very stern warning that, "We really mean it this time!"
