I recently moved my V1 up on the windshield.
It has always been approx 4 inches from the top of the windshield, and right below the tint strip. The tint strip starts extremely light, and does not black out by any means. It darkens to a blueish transparency.
Today I found a location I like better just above my rear view mirror that allows better line of sight for the rear antenna. It actually made a big difference. Its both better in rear detection distance, and more accurate for rear alerts. I think before front alerts would bounce off the back of the rear mirror at times and the rear antenna would pick it up as a result. In this location the light part of the tint starts at about the halfway point of the front antenna.
I read in other threads most stock tint has no metallic in it, and with that in mind it should be fine. My question is, on a stock Volvo 850, anyone know if this tint has metallic in it? Or should I be fine? As I mentioned, the tint is extremely light at the bottom, and the front V1 antenna is just slightly above the start of the tint.
Its basically right where the ORANGE block is now.
