Is there a reason why the ix goes off like crazy at the airport put the V1 does not?
Not even a peep!

i dont know the cause but you aren't the first person to report 9500's falsing on laser around airports.
Well if you read the thread that was linked above, a possible cause is
So if it is an issue with the shielding of the detector and not an actual laser source, it makes sense that it could affect some models and not others. It's an EMI/RFI issue where high-power slow repetition rate air-search radars (commonly found in civilian aviation "center" traffic control sites and in military air-search radars) have the ability to overpower the ground shielding in detectors causing laser false alerts. People frequently cite wind-shear detection radar as the culprit.
The Valentine One used to false around airports. A while back, Valentine would do a free "airport mod" if you requested it, where they would fill in some gaps with conductive epoxy and bake the unit in the oven. This supposably did away with falsing from strong RF sources at airports. Since that time, I believe they have updated their design so that the airport mod is no longer needed.
