A local highway patrol officer came in to class this morning to talk to us about drinking and driving, among other things. When the officer begain to talk about speeding, one student asked about how cops track motorists' speeds. He mentioned LIDAR and his broadband radar. He also mentioned how much of a waste of money radar detectors are since the detector "cycles" through radar frequencies and cant track all of the frequencies all at the same time. While I was hearing this, I had a smile on my face and I was wishing that one of the gurus from this site were in the class so they could show that the cop didn't really know what he was talking about. Anways, I just wanted to share that.
