God I hope not, I don't know why these f*cks can't just use Ku Band and stop interfering with US police radar bands.
I don't understand why they need to "upgrade" automatic door openers. How can they improve opening and closing a door?!?
Fortunately the operating frequency is 35MHz or literally just on the edge of the Ka band spectrum. The paper said something about modulating the signal too. Thus it should be easy for RD manufacturers to filter these things out. I still don't see how they are going to get FCC approval to use Ka band for a door opener, or the practicality of it since now there are several other alternative designs which have recently hit the market or are in development. And those long Ka band horns are anything but compact.
And its worth noting that a chinese manufacturer has produced a very compact K band system which works fairly similarly to this new system.
why don't they all just use this, my local walmart uses these and they work great and don't create any radar interference. Stanley Access Technologies.com
