    Default 9500ci vs Valentine

Interesting results so far on my road trip from Atlanta to Florida. It's about an even split so far between which detector alerts me to K/Ka threats first. I was expecting superior performance from the 9500ci, but I plan on keeping the V1 for a while longer now.

Couple of questions: Besides receiver placement, could anything else be affecting the performance of the 9500ci?

Would two V1s affect each other negatively mounted side by side?

Using 2 RD's at the same time "may" affect one's performance.

Something's not right. Can you post a pic of how you have your 9500ci antenna mounted?

Only thing I can think of is the height - maybe I just need to test it some more...

    Here's the radar antenna.

It looks like it's mounted perfectly. I have no idea why your 9500ci isn't smoking your V1. I can see them being about the same in heavy traffic, but in the open, your 9500ci should beat your V1 almost every time.

It looks like your 9500ci antenna is pointed upwards. If so, roughly at what angle? Also is the antenna mounted with the sticker side up or with the sticker side down?

I hope you don't meet any angry dumptrucks/road debris. Why not put the radar receiver behind plastic of your front bumper?

It's not unusual in this low humidity for the V1 to alert even with my 9500CI on K band if it's a flat road where it's just a strong signal that comes all at once, not gradual.

But for Ka band it's not even close.

    Keep us updated.

Will take closer measurements on the 6 hour trip home tomorrow.

The level reads TDC when on garage pavement. Might've been the angle I took the picture. I can't get that low anymore.

You mean completely concealed? I thought line of sight/being unimpeded was still important... Wonder if I'd have better results with the radar antenna up high near the V1? Maybe I just didn't understand exactly what you meant...
