    Talking BTST Radar Detector Scam

So far 2009 has been the year for new entries into the "Cheap Ass Radar Detector" market.

So far this year we have:

Entry #1 - Tommy Chen from Rayee Technologies in China that is making counterfeit Binder and Escort/Beltronics products.
    Cheap Ass Radar Detectors

Entry #2 - The Ghost radar detector marketed by RadarShield.
Cheap Ass Radar Detectors On Sale Now!

Entry #3 - And the latest entry in this highly competitive market is Adam Blair from the UK who is now marketing his BTST radar detector in the US!

Adam's marketing for his detector (repackaged Quintezz) on his website make's Mike Churchman and RMR look like saints!

Adam claims on his website that he is "a former race car driver, and now a radar detector hero...."

So in doing a little research on Adam I found that he indeed raced in what is classified as the "Scholarship" class in formula three racing.

What I did find interesting was an artilce discussing the Pamper race car were Adam is quoted as saying that his motto is
"Live Fast, Retire Young, Become a Mortgage Broker".

Given the state of our economy now because of all the crooked morgage brokers, I would assume that Adam moved on and applied his skills in marketing his "CARD" to the US market.

So would love your comments, who do you think will win the Cheap Ass Radar Detector award for 2009?

    Thats SHADY!

$1,500... ouch! Roy... this is an amazing find. I think that is the grimiest of grimy marketing tactics. The other companies/people/jokers lie to you, and give you a single, initial price they sell you their (worthless) junk for right up-front. This guy takes it a bit further, he baits you into what one would think as a ' free trial-period' and then hammers you with an egregious payment for a piece of (worthless) junk.

I really would encourage you guys to check out some of these guys websites, but as to not break our rules in linking to competitors websites, you can do this so you can check out their total BS!

Go to Google and type Radar Detectors and check out the "Sponsored Listings"

Adam's ad is listed as the "Racer's Radar Detectors" No money down, try it for free. Ultimate Radar Detector - com

The Ghost (and a few other Escort/Bel knock offs) ad is listed under "Best Radar Detector Ever" Radarshield-com

I don't know who is going to win the CARD contest, but Rayee Technologies is not listed with the FCC! Do you know if there is another parent company name?

Well I guess Adam must had gotten an email about our post because within the past 15 minutes he has completely changed the offer on his site and removed the toll free number he had for the USA.

Adam is now selling the BTST for $299.00 upfront.

Replaced the US 800 number with a phone number to the UK.

Glad I took that earlier screen shot!!

They are NOT listed by the FCC because none of their units have FCC type acceptance. Watch the video from CES where I flip the detector over and point this out...

This Rayee model is claimed to be undetectable by the Spectre III and the Spectre VI (not a typo on my behalf). This specific model also has no grant from the FCC.
