Default new vs old radar guns

ok, so today i got a 35.5 ka alert from a city cop here in Texas. i found out it either came from the decauter or the kustoms radar gun. can anyone tell me how old these are and if they are good guns. the reason i ask is cause i think if i know the age of their equipment i might be able to out do them. i think that made sense.. thanks.

No it didn't make sense to me (to be honest).

I don't understand what you mean to 'out-do-them' basically... because the fact is: The only real way to tell the age of the gun, is to be able to actually see/ID the gun being used... and even then the only way to 'out-do-it' is to have the best RD you can buy...

In other words, just how do you think you are going to be able to 'out-do' a radar gun?

Yes new radar guns are better at processing signals and such, so they are much harder to 'trick', but the bottom line is, if your planning on 'out-doing' a radar gun any other way that has been done by RD users in the past: Think again.

Radar is transmitted at the speed of light, both now and when it was first intruduced. The "doppler shift" methodology is no different now, than it was when radar was first introduced. Basically, the only basic differences between the old radar guns and today's radar guns, are features and display.
