    Post STi Driver vs 9500ix

I have read alot of posts and seems like STi driver is better in performance than 9500ix. I know STi has stealth but it doesn't matter for me. I care about performance like V1 but few false alerts.

which is better then STi or 9500ix. I'm really looking at a performance level close to V1 and few false alerts?

These two are very close in performance, with maybe a slight edge to the STi. The features however are not close, with a huge advantage to the 9500ix, except for the STi's stealth feature, which you said you don't need.

On paper they look very close, but after comparing them in my Semi for a couple weeks on the open road the STI outperforms the 9500ix when it gets off axis any amount. Straightline encounters I found them about the same alerting within 1 second of each other. I decided to keep the 9500ix as my Metro detector and continue to use my STI for the open road.

I think I'm with you on this Freebird. I think I'm going to give Escort a call.

EDIT: Afterall, the 9500ix works with the STi direct wire so no need to run a new wire (or suction cup mount for that matter). Just release, swap and boom.
