    Default VG-2

    hey,

I live in a state where radar detectors are completely legal, but I was wondering if there was some advantage/disadvantage to enabling VG-2 detection anyways. I was thinking, obviously this state (Illinois) wouldn't invest in the new and probably expensive spectre RDD units as radar detectors are legal, but maybe they have some VG-2 sitting around, simply so they could see who's using detectors, and use it do the driver's disadvantage. Or maybe they never bought VG-2 in the first place. Will VG-2 detection help me out with something else... or make something worse, or neither? I don't know, what do you guys think?

    Thanks

Unless you live in Virgina, D.C. or Canada, I don't think it (VG2 detection) serves any purpose. Just my humble opinion.

The only places that may use VG2 are weigh-stations, since detectors are illegal in commercial vehicles.

DO NOT ENABLE VG2 on the Whistler.
When VG2 is enabled and it detects VG2 either legit or false alert it will disable any other alerts until the VG2 alert is finished.

If you get lots of VG2 falses this will make the unit useless.
