Ok, but can I send in my 955 to get flashed with the newest firmware?

Yes, but if you look at the GOL I/O table...Look at the 940, it sniffed out all 3 I/O hits...The 940 from my knowledge has the same hardware as the 955. Obviously I would trust the 9500 or the V1 with I/O more than I would with the 955, but if it came down to it I would still kind of trust the 955. If that makes any sense

I dont think the V955 can turn X band off other then the 995 in the vector series.

You betcha -- assuming that your V955's FCC ID ends in M4.

I would say 955 but for my dad's next b-day I'm gonna get him a V1. I'll just use my mom's CC because she never knows what to get him haha. We already got him a V1 for his last birthday but my mom didn't want to order it so she just gave him a piece of paper with the V1 on it and told him he could order a RD. (My idea for the V1 pic). He has just never gotten around to ordering a RD yet. I think he might be happier with the 9500ix but he absolutely HATES escort with a passion and refuses to even consider them. He had a bad experience with the old cordless 7500(I think it was 7500). I tried to explain to him that its because it was cordless but he refuses to listen and he reasons that his old "cobra trapshooter outdid that POS escort" and that he would go buy a cobra before an escort. After hearing that my eyes bulged in fear that I would have a family member with a cobra! But it turns out he was messing with me because he knows I'm obsessed with RD's and that I rag on cobra all the time.

Usually our RD discussion goes like this:

Me: Dad you should really consider the 9500...you won't have to deal with all the falses since I know you don't like my V1 beeping all the time at automatic doors.

Dad: Well, on the tests you read which one has the better range, V1 or 9500ix?

Me: Well the V1 but just BARELY, it hardly even makes a differ...(cut off by dad)

Dad: Well my decision is made then! I will only settle for the best performance! And I won't give a penny to that POS escort company anyways. My s**t is worth more than any of their detectors!

Me: Ok then, well order the V1

    Dad: Ok fine I will

Then he never gets around to it...but I can't complain as I'm a V1 zombie as well . I'm just willing to consider the 9500 because I think it might better fit his needs.

Hey I just talked to Brian from bel on the online chat and he states there are no firmware updates to the 955. And for me to send it in for a tuneup it costs $60.

What is the manufacturing date code on your V955? I assume that it also is an M4?
