How does these to compare on range. Are they really close or does one blow the other one away.

The V1 beats the 9500i on every band. Ka band is pretty close, K band is reasonably close and X band is not close.
Guys of LIDAR - Radar Detector Test - August 2007
The only one the 9500i wins in is off axis 35.5 Ka others are close but V1 wins in off-axis. Consider the 9500ix if you want to use the database.

What about the 9500ix vs v1? Other than the false alerts as far as the v1. Which one is more sensitive?
V1 hands down is more sensible. But it all depends on where you drive the most. If city then I will go with 95000ix. If it's mostly highway I would choose V1.
It mainly depends on your preference. Personally i like to think not have the RD think for me. We talked about this topic before so you will find alot of stuff on here.
yeah, i've been reading ever where about the 9500ix and v1 and it just seems like its almost the same. but yeah thanks for the bit of info! Im just happy i went with the v1. it would be so cool if there could be an update on the v1 with some sort of text display. that would just be way cool
Real world they're pretty damn close.
On two recent road trips ran the 9500i on one and the v1 on another.
both performed very well. pretty much equal against constant and I/O.
If i wasn't spoiled with front and rear detection, i'd be very happy using the 9500i.
These are both the same units used in that GOL test BTW.
