When stopped by a LEO and you have a RD, do you:
1. Remove and conceal the RD?
2. Attempt to conceal the RD where mounted?
3. Keep the RD in place?
4. Other?

I get pulled over a lot. Catch a lot of grief and no tickets... weird
Oh and I dont move the V1
I take it down (windshield mounted V1) if I can do so without being obvious, and without looking like I'm doing anything fishy to make the cop nervous.
i think the officer would have to lay on the ground and look directly up into my car with the door open to see my detector. i dont think my headlights are even at the legal level for street use
I haven't been stopped since I bought the x50 (someone get some wood please...) but I would prefer not to try and insult the officers intelligence. Not to mention the fact that a lot of movement within the cabin is probably the last thing he/she wants to see. When I get stopped I just roll my window down and put my hands on the wheel.
My "getting pulled over" routine:
- Turn off radar detector (especially at night)
- Pull to the right, or a side street if on a major street
- Turn on headlights, hazards, and interior lights
- Turn off car
- Put keys on dashboard
- Roll down window
- Put hands on wheel
Sometimes when I get hit with IO and I positively identify the LEO I'll take down the radar detector if I think I can do so before they pull out to pursue me. Otherwise I just turn it off so it doesn't start drawing attention to itself.
The last time i got stopped it was in nc i left the detector mounted. He wasn't even useing radar and paced me gave me a big ticket no break what so ever.I believe if i ever get stopped again i'll try to hide it or at least take it down.
It takes me 5 seconds to take it off so just take it off.
For me -
3. Keep the RD in place.
