Cobra 9700 vs. Whistler Pro 73???

I currently have a $50 Cobra RD that does it's job most of the time. I usually go between 85 and 100 on interstates in TX and AR and I increasingly notice that the $50 version may not be enough. Got a $200 ticket two weeks ago. Now I am thinking about an upgrade in the 150 dollar range and saw the Cobra 9700 and the Whistler Pro 73. Which one might be better in your opinion?

Or does the small Cobra do it's duty and I just need to slow down?

If you absolutely have to stay in the $150 price range, go with the Whistler. It doesn't have all the features of the Crapra, but it's got far better detection, and that's really what matters, isn't it?

Plus, if you want to save even more money, go with the Whistler Pro-58. It's basically the same as the Pro-73, maybe a hair less range, but you save $50 by getting a backlit display instead of a digital one.

If you're going to go that fast, however, strongly consider a Bel RX-65, Escort Passport 8500 X50, or even a V1. If you're going that far over the limit in Texas, which is very well-known for its small town speed traps, you'll get nabbed pretty often.

at that speed i dont think any radar detector is good enough, slow down first bud!

i have had bad experience with cobra so i wouldnt recommend it at all

if u are going to upgrade little by little u are wasting ur money.. just save up and get either a v1, passport 8500 x50, or bel rx65

Thanks for the Opinions. Slowing down is easier said than done. I lived the first 21 years of my life in Germany. I am kind of used to the 100 mph travel speed.
