Default Radar detector location, will this work?

How effective or ineffective is my radar detection going to be in this location? I know I lose laser detection totally but that is ok.
Its an Escort 8500 X50 BTW.
The front sensors face forward and there is no metal in front of it, the gas tank is in the line of site but its up a few feet.

BTW nice bike!! 8) I would refrain from putting the detector in that position! You would be blocking the units reception too much!

Also from the way the picture is set up it looks like your mounnting the RD verticle. It isn't a good I idea to place a horn antenna verticle. They are designed to receive at those frequencies while horizontal.
