Default detector just answers one call and misses real radar!!!!

i think many people will agree that they have had a false alart beeping while there is a gatso or radar threat ahead.......

its really doing my head in, my detector will beep due to crossing lights which i've just passed on ka band and then when i'm going through a gatso its still beeping ka band... and then it will go off and the gatso k band radar will beep when i'm half through the lines!

mikes right when he says detectors answer 1 call which jams them up!

even though i've got a snooper the same could be said for the bell 966 or 975 ones..... or even the bel euro 550 which are 309.99 they say its rrp 449.99 thats $550!!! and that rrp price would be......... $798! and you think the v1 is espensive! at $399 or 217 its a bargin!

all of which dont do multi bogeys unlike the v1 and escort!

normaly the detector will respond to the highest radar but as you can see the highest isnt always the threat as with the gatso its hiding in the radar from the lights........ i think instant on radar and laser overides any other radar alert, well i think thats what it says....

even though i know the gatsos there and i'm not speeding, i do like to know if its ''on'' as then i make sure i'm below the limit as i pass it.

this wouldnt happen very often if i were able to turn off the other bands
because x isnt used, it is used on the watchman but there not in my area ku and ka arnt used....... i soppose they are but the mini gatso and ka band radar gun arnt used..... the last time i encountered a mini gatso was in 1999 - 2000. it was infront of a van parked on the roadside.... my snooper give me a good warning but we werent paying attention to the detector at the time......... but more to the gatso and the people belting passed it.......... it was constant flashing! nasty!!!!

i'm sure people with the non multi detectors agree!

Make sure you are doing speed limit whenever you get an alert. That's what I am using my detector for anyway, reminder to check my speed.

true... but its very hard to do the speed limits in the uk as they have all been reduced to stupidly slow limits.......

this is so that if you arnt speeding you soon will be, because they will drop the limit so you curb crawl and then start speeding.........

the limits are too slow to stick to!

What's the speed limit in UK? Freeways (I think they are called 'motorways') and cities.

Motorways - 70mph - get away with 75-77mph - drivers normally cruise at between 75-85
Dual carridgeways - 60mph - get away with 65mph drivers normally cruise at between 65-75
Normal A roads (US Route roads) speed limit can be anything from 30mph to 60mph. These are the roads that most Gatso camera's are one.

Laserblaster - I know where your coming from, thats why i upgraded from the whislter 1495se to the Bel 550 and then the V1.
You need to upgrade from the snooper.
Don't be thinking that Ku & Ka radar guns aren't being used !
I was up in the Lake District 2 weeks ago and saw a Ku trap and a cop using a ka radar gun ! radar is making it's way back !,mainly for it's ease of use. Cop sat in his car with gun sticking out the window and then once he's got the speed reading he can be after you. If they are using lasre they have to have it on a tripod.
Bang the Snooper on ebay and try getting a V1 or Bel 550 of ebay too
seen a few Bel 550's go for less thena 100 in the last month.
Been thinking of getting a Bel again as a backup.

i have seen a cop at the roadside with a handheld laser gun!

this was the first time i saw a cop using the lti ultralyte.

in my area they are using laser, but i can see that if they do ban radar detectors then they will start using the radar and mobile traps.

at the start of the year their was a 'speed campaign' around my area that there would be random speed traps everywhere!
there were pics of then using the ultralyte.

and then everything all dies down, its like every so often they will have a speed trap rampage!

the only thing which is worrying me are the camera vans, as theses keep appearing on different roads all the time!

i know of a few places where i've spotted the camera vans and they havent used the same spots in years!

there is far too many idiots on the roads, each time i go round the out skirts of my town aroud the ring road, i always get at least 1 car to cut me up! it happens everytime i go out.........

people have got it well and truly in their heads that speed kills and it doesnt matter as long as their not speeding!
