Daily reminder: USE RABBITS!!!

I was running blind today, since I haven't reinstalled my V1 since it returned from service (for shame!)

Anyway, of course I'm being careful and using a rabbit, which today was a big black SUV in the middle lane, and I was short of shadowing him in the right lane. As we came around a bend, there was an Arizona DPS car waiting.... it's a great hiding spot that my V1 has saved me from before. But like I said, today I didn't have it with me.

So between coming around that bend, and having the SUV to my left hiding my view of where the cop was, I was braking as I was already past the cop. Lucky for me, he chose the rabbit over my already braking car.

Needless to say: Use a rabbit!
Also needless to say: My V1 goes back in tonight!

I don't need a reminder...I always use rabbits accompanied by my V1

Here in IL/IN I have a hard time keeping up to rabbits, if anything. Drive for 15-20 min, a BMW will pass you at 90-95. But I don't like to weave through traffic like they do...

Well I also think that having a RD is just as important as a rabbit. In your case, you almost got eff'd because you didnt have your V1 in.

Not sure what you mean by weaving. I prefer to pass on the left only but its not an option most of the time. I can save 30minutes on a 300 mile drive by making questionable lane changes. Not dangerous per se, but most cops would not approve.

I try to keep up with any rabbit I can find, but I tend to keep it under 100 and I don't follow people asking to crash. I will follow anyone on the open road for a second but once we hit traffic if he drives like a retard then I let him go. I go like 89 on my own anyhow as long as there are enough cars ahead of me.

I have a large car (Mercury Grand Marquis) which is heavy. Doesn't accelerate or slow down quickly.

If there's a "mixed cluster" of cars (some right, some left lane) I'll let the BMW fly through it and pass it much more slowly. Another rabbit will appear soon enough. Generally I try to avoid sudden moves with my car.

Personally, I'm comfortable at 90 with no traffic, or 80-85 with light mixed traffic.

I also find that around Chicago the only rabbits going as fast I want to are driving like total d-bags. I refuse to cut in and out of traffic, and if it means losing a lot of speed and having to accelerate again to pass somebody it really doesn't bother me.

Even a retarded rabbit who is flying and weaving is better than no rabbit at all... after all, he may spring the next trap up ahead, leaving you safe.

And if he flies past a cop and they don't pull out after them... well, if you're driving more sanely, chances are they'll leave you alone too.
