Default An Interesting Japanese RVM Radar Detactor

I haven't gone back to Japan for almost 3 years so I didn't know what kind of radars available in Japan.
When I was surfing the Internet, I found an interesting radar detector.

This is a RVM style, basically you just put on the existing mirror and connect it with either cigar socket or hard wire.

It has GPS so it will warn you if you are heading speed camera with real pic.

It looks good though, it has some drawbacks which is:
    1) it shakes a little if it isn't fit
    2) if you buy cheaper one, under $200 USD(the detector as shown cost around $300), it is difficult to see because of sunshine
    3) I am not sure about the sensitivity of the radar. People say it works great though, I haven't even seen it with my own eyes.

If it can work in the US, I would like to buy one though, I need US map and data regarding location of speed camera and red right camera.

I am not sure if the types of radar used in Japan and in the US are same.

So I hope it would be released in the US officially.

I think in Japan X and K ban are the radar used, no Ka. Your detector would be a great detector to sell in Japan the main reason is the Japanese detector are rather poor in sensitivity and seem to spend money on the "gimmicks" The 9500i will beat any local Japanese detector hands down.
A really good market to sell the 9500i is in Japan.

Actually I thought the sensitivity of Japanese radar detectors were not good...because we do not see many police officers on the road but speed cameras.

If it was released in the US with the good sensitivity at 300~500, I would definitely buy.

people drive so slow in Japan. I used to live in Okinawa, the speed limit was 45km/h

80 km something on free way!

With 2 1/2 foot wide lanes, it's not hard to understand why everyone drives so slow.

(Those of you that haven't been there, the lanes aren't really 2 1/2' wide.. but it certainly feels that way)

Is that thing a Radar Detector or just a GPS unit that warns you about known traps and RLCs, etc.? I don't read Japanese so can't tell from the text. It looks really cool though, if it had good range I'd own one.

This detector has radar detecting function.
As ghz1 mentioned, it may not cover Ka-band.

I remember there is stealth radar or laser, I am not sure what to call even in Japanese. The radar/laser system, police uses in Japan, sounds like it's similar to laser of the US.

It also has car location bula bula function which the device warn you if it receives the signal from police car driving close to you.

Well did a little surfing and come up with this. It's would seem that in the two years since I've looked at this they have evolved to include Ka! But still unsure if the police use Ka in Japan. Maybe only in Okinawa.

I do find it interesting to check out detectors from all over the world.

I have been checking 2ch, which is the biggest portal site that over a million people access a day, regarding a Japanese Detector... In Japan only x, k, and stealth system(Im not sure what it is...) are used by police...probably.

I am not sure about ka.
