    Default Longest Warning Range

What is your longest warning you ever received. Especially on maybe flat terrain. Make sure you don't try to stretch the truth....just because your a V1 Lover or a Belscort Lover.
Post K and Ka and what you are using.

I personally have gotten 3 miles on a K band Trooper using constant on. That was on a flat straight road. On Ka I have picked up a trooper using Ka instant on 2.5 to 3.0 miles away. Again straight flat road. Most of the time I get about 3/4 mile warning from both K and Ka. when there are some hills or curves.

I've gotten a 1.5 mile warning on KA from a "Your Speed Is" sign.

I thought that's pretty good since it's KA.

3.9 mile warning on constant on Ka with my original 8500 (Rev 15). There were a few small hills, but mostly flat and straight.

    4.7 mile ka constant.
This is a fairly straight stretch of road. some dips, with no line of sight until about 1/2 mile from source. one intersection with signal light in between.

As everyone's posts above confirm, detection depends a lot on local terrain, since radio waves in this application are a line-of-sight technology. You're going to get different results on I70 in Kansas than on a backroad in Vermont.

Flat and straight doesn't seem to exist around here. I got 1 mile on K-band once and that was around a gentle curve, slight hill. I thought it was pretty good.

THERE ARE LOTS OF HILLS AND TWISTY ROADS WHERE I LIVE (CANADA IN THE MARITIMES). I HAVE THE WHISTLER PRO 73 IT WORKS WELL ON THE FLAT HIGHWAY, I HAVE GOT 1 MILE BEFOR BUT THERE WAS BIG HILL THAT I WAS GOING UP AND JUST BEFOR I GOT TO THE TOP I HAVE RECIEVED A KA ALERT SO IF TH HILL WAS NOT THERE IT WOULD OF PERFORMED BETTER. IN THE CITY I USUALLY GRT AROUND .2 TO .3 MILES. JUST DEPENDS ON THE TERRIAN I HAVE GOTTEN .5 MILES IN THE CITY. THE CITY HAS LOTS OF TREES AND MOUNTIANES ROADS.
