Driving in a 55 limit zone with a LEO approaching from the opposite way. My bad for not ID'ing him visually. When we got to about 500 feet apart I got K band alert from my STi, at which point I realized it was a LEO and immediately slowed down. I still got nailed, but have a question: LEO said he "first clocked me at 82, but locked in at 74". And the ticket I got was for 74. Is that how guns normally operate - the initial burst gives a speed but that reading is not certified to be accurate? And then it takes 2-3 seconds for the gun to get a "formal" speed reading that would hold up in court?
