Default Best Radar Detector for Canada

Iam looking for input on which radar detector I should purchase for use in Canada. Let me tell you something about where I live. The terran is very rocky and hilly - Northern Ontario. The features that Iam mostly interested in are the best detector for distance and the best detector that will not be detected by the radar detector detectors that are used in Canada.
Thank you so much for your help and input!!

Wait until December. Trust me. All retail models are currently decected on the Spectre RDD used in Canada, but that's changing come December.

    Welcome to the Forum.
Northern Ontario with it's wide open 2 lane highways is PRIME territory for the Spectre to hunt it's prey.
You will get nailed, unless you are very careful.
OPP running a Spectre equipped car and you're one of about 3 cars on the road, you're toast Bro.
Hopefully this Brand X will be released in the coming months and do what it claims. 100% Invisible to the Spectre.
At present your best bet would be a V1 which is the most stealth of all the RD's available today.
Spectre Detection range about 50 Meters, but to lose a $500.00 RD if you do get caught OUCH.
You would probably be wise to wait for Brand X, unless you want to pay Roy Zegers of ARDS $1400.00 for a modified Stelath V1.
I personally use a Cordless for now in Ontario because it is easier to hide if I do get pulled over.
Having said that if I was driving on say HWY 69 or 11 in Northern Ontario I would probably NOT use my RD, depending on traffic flow etc.
The Spectre can detect my PNI from about 1500 ft on an open road.
Rumour has it that the OPP have about 250 Spectres in service.

    I have two Ideas:

    1. Put a V1 on a swith mounted on the dash so it can be turned off quickly

    2. Buy an old $5 detector from ebay, when you see the police start to come after you yank the V1 off the dash and cough up the $5 detector.

It's still a $170.00 Ticket....... but can go up to $1000.00 as per our Highway Traffic Act........

    Dear Lord!

Canada still has its perks though, aside from the roadways.

Agreed here, wait for Brand X to release their new one, and worries about Spectre will be a thing of the past.

Even with a Brand X you still need Lidar protection. Purchase Veil and consider one of the laser jammers. Oh yeah you have to wait for those as well since new ones are coming to the market..

So the consensus here is wait
