    Default Rdar Detetcor Interfreance

Seeing how the STi Driver does not leak. Do you think there would be interference between my 8500 and the STi...I would like to run them both together to see the difference in detection.

When I was running my STi-R in the windshield with my 9500ix the 9500ix cut down the sensitivity of my STi-R when it came to K band.

I did not notice my 9500ix being affected by the STi-R though, so I would think that your STi might be affected.

Since the STi doesn't leak, it won't affect the 8500, BUT... the 8500's leakage may affect performance of the STi.

So, even if one RD is stealth, you can still have issues. Only when both RDs are no-emission types can you run them together without them tripping on one another.

Maybe a noob question....but don't all radar detectors leak to some level? To make a RD steath to the Spectre, is it a matter of supressing the leakage or just shifting the LO of the RD so its outside the Spectre's detection band? Or is it both?

If its just shifting the LO, isn't it possible that even a stealthy RD would intefere with another RD's detection ability? Just wondering.

The M3 radar antenna leakage is extremely low. It's not a matter of just shifting the LO. The M3s are not at all detectable outside of a couple of feet.

While that lowers the annoyance factor, I'm afraid that the 8500 will still effect the STI-R's performance.
