Default Phantom 1 by U.S. Radar - what band does it use?

I got a ticket last night for 65 in 45. My radar detector has X band disabled and didn't make a beep. I asked to see the radar. It looked old and on the radar it said:

    Phantom 1
    by U.S. Radar

Anybody know if these guys are using X band? I looked at the website and the one U.S. Radar are selling currently is using K band.[/url]

The only IACP approved gun with "phantom" in the name is K band. US radar is apparently made by Decatur radar, makers of the genesis series guns. Either the officer didn't actually clock you, the gun has drifted out of tune, or the V1 just plain missed it (not likely). Are you picking up other K Band alerts on the V1?

Jeez they can write tickets with one of those? I don't think I'd let it into my little league games!

yeah, except this is a picture of a newer model from their website. the one he clocked me with was gray (not black as pictured) and had "1" after Phantom on the case.

any way for me to prove it in court aside from asking for radar calibration certificate?

Nope. But check to see if it is approved by the IIACP...
