I donít know what all the nonsense is about concerning RMR products. To start with I drive a 2004 Pontiac Bonneville which as you know is a large car. I have used a RMR-C430 for several years and have not gotten a single ticket. Before I started using RMR products I was getting tickets about 1 every 3-4 months but I have not gotten a single ticket from the time installed the RMR-C430. I also follow the directions and LET OFF THE GAS as soon as the RMR-C430 picks up a signal. That way I can be around the posted speed limit by the time I approach the office. It is not uncommon for me to drive 15-30 MPH over the posted speed limit. I average 40K-45K miles per year because of my job most of which is interstate and highway driving. I also work closely with the Criminal Justice System. I have had police offices that are friends of mine try to clock me and until I get within about 200 feet they have a hard time (NOT IMPOSSIBABLE BUT A HARD TIME) locking in a speed with several different types of radar equipment. We have tried our experiment on the open road with no traffic with clear and rainy weather and on a road with cars going in both directions in clear and rainy weather. Now I have to agree that within 200 feet the jammer is useless. It appears that in rainy weather the distance increases from about 200 feet to about 350 feet depending on how hard it is raining. During my rain test it was raining at a moderate rate; however I have NEVER had an instance when the RMR-C430 had detected a signal where I could not just let off the gas or kick off the Cruise Control and be within just a few miles per hour of the posted speed limit to prevent getting a ticket. I am now buying a RMR-C475 for my car and giving my RMR-C430 to my wife, who just got a speeding ticket in her 2010 Camaro LT2 for doing 62 in a 45. She was using a Cobra 9840 and did not receive an alert early enough to get her speed adjusted. Which is a problem neither my wife Nor I have ever had using the RMR-C430. Radar and Laser Jammer or not the RMR line has worked great for me, and even with a Radar Detector/Jammer you still have to use your head. You can get a ticket for speeding in many states without the use of Radar/Laser Gun by the office timing you and the calculating your speed from Point A to Point B, a lot of times you can beat a ticket that is done using this method but I wouldnít push my luck just because you never know what kind of mood the judge will be in. So use your head and donít rely on solely on the equipment to keep yourself from getting a ticket. From the video I have seen where Radar Roy is testing the RMR-C430 and there is a lock on the speed from a range that appears to be greater than 200 Feet I would have to see the test in person because it appears that the lights on the RMR-C430 are not on which my power light indicated by a green P is always on. Not sure if it is the angle of the camera, the vehicle he is driving or what but my test have shown much better results than his and I have never had trouble seeing the light on the display.
