Ok, so I'm from BC Canada. I'm looking for a RD that is in the $100-$120 price range (I just bought a new car and money is tight).. I've had a lot of responses of people telling me to wait and save up more.. But I can't I'm very impatient and I need it now. I will upgrade later but right now I would like to find a radar up too $120 (w/ shipping).

These are the bands/lasers used in my area:

Surrey: K, Ka, Laser (LTI Marksman, Ultralyte, Laser Atlanta, PL III)

Why don't you spend $150 and get a refurb Escort 8500 off of eBay.

They still perform very well and they did good against the Valentine One in 2005 and 2006.

The 940 is going to run him over his price limit with shipping.

Honestly, dude, you'd be better off just slowing down, or putting that money away for a lawyer than into a radar detector. No radar detector is going to save you from laser, which seems to be your biggest threat. And a hundred dollar detector is only going to give you a false sense of security, causing you to get pwn3d.

Probably the only detector I'd even briefly consider looking at at that price is the Whistler XTR 190. But again, I'd probably just skip it altogether if I couldn't get something reliable.

I agree. The Escort 8500 is by far his best option anywhere close to his prie range, but I don't think Escort will ship him one to BC. I don't like the 940 option, because it cannot disable X band, which he says he doesn't need. The best option for him is the Bel v955, which he can't afford. Looks like I agree with Stealth Stalker, he should just slow down, since none of that will save him from laser anyhow. Speeding has become a pay-to-play game. He can't afford to play.
