Has anyone tested either of these radar detector in the Ka band only? If you use the Ka band only (no X and no K) does it improve the latency/delay in responding to instant on?

Most likely no...
#1) Because they have two antenna anyways... so right from the start the X is out of the ball game.
#2) Because even if you combine both X,K sectors they are still miniscule in size compared to the entire Ka-band.
#3) (I am getting old on this forum) but I believe Jim at one point also explained why (scientifically) there would be very little difference, but I cant seem to find this sooo I am likely making it up.
I vote no...
If anything the STi-R would be the best bet using its Ka-band segmentation... rather then the 9500ci.

STI R with "RDR" off is the way to go between the two
I tried to run my STI-R with RDR off today.... I was driving pretty fast and passed a Silver Hyundai Tiburon about 50 yards after I get around it STI-R goes off (V1 silent). At this point I jam the brakes and look down 33.5?!?! I slowed down for a few miles just in case.... But every cobra on the planet will set it off with rdr off.....
Happyass have you seen a big increase with rdr off?
x2 you want to leave RDR OFF. I don't drive as much now since the STi-R was installed, but I hardly get falses with RDR off, and I'd rather risk a false then risk a save.
I run with RDR off on my STi-R as well and I don't see many falses.
ok i know my (our) situation is different over here where i live but with RDR off i basically get no falses at all (well ok there are 2 locations where i do get them occasionally but that's nothing) on the other had seeing a cobra over here is very rare. also RDR off increases the sensitivity especially against our low powered Ramer 7 and AD9.. i can't really say by how much thought
Has anyone done any legitimate testing with STI-R settings?
