Hey guy!!! I hope i get a warm welcome im a newbie but I have a lto of interest and passion in radar detection and im a proud owner of an Escort x50 Blue LED rev 5. Im 21 and from Detroit suburbs.
This thread is to discuss threats and other stuff going on in the USA. I live in Michigan. I was able to look at Michigan's contracts with MPH Industries & Kustom Signals, etc to see which units we have aquired in our state for the police force. I then matched up the units to MPH Industries' website to check and see if POP mode is equipped on any of them. It is safe to just look at MPH units since I believe MPH has created the POP mode and only their units use it. Heres what I found out:
....these are the MPH industries radar units MI police have from the MI GOV page check this formal 'contract' out
Python II series
Enforcer has POP
Bee III has POP
and the Z-25 has POP
now you go to the page on MPH that has all their products and see if any of those have POP...check it out ill let u find out!
now...those products just have POP mode on their profiles meaning theses units opertate in MI. Whether cops really use it and whether they are trained or use it in city and/or highway and mobile or stationary is what im not sure of. I know that legally POP is to get an estimate since it isnt accurate and then they must use normal radar to secure the actual speed.
Have any of you looked into this? Is POP mode a real threat?
