    Default V1 34.7 and 35.5 KA?

Ok, I've been reading a ton on here bacause i'm getting ready to step up to something new....Thinking V1....but i have a question.

Everyone keeps saying how the V1 is a bit lacking on 34.7 and 35.5 KA especially on off axis shots.......these are what i encounter mostly.....and laser now and then as well....but my question would a V1 be better at 34.7 and 35.5 KA then my 3 year old RX65??

I would think so...but i'd hate to get a V1 and have the same performance as what i already have.

I know the GOL results will be out soon as well but i'm pulling my hair out waiting for those so to keep me occupied i'm asking for your input on this...

    any input would be great....Thanks

The only weakness with the V1 in the last round of off-axis testing was against 35.5. Against anything else, yes it will be better. Do you know if your RX65 is S7 or M4?

Trust me, the V1 will outperform your current radar detector in every category. Plus, with the V1 you will know where a radar signal is coming from thanks to the V1's arrows.

    VeilGuy's Laser Detection Test - February 2006

Winner of laser detection using four different lidar guns

"That being stated, these results suggest that, especially in close-range laser encounters, the Valentine 1 is the top performing laser detector, by a wide-margin...

As good as the other three leading detectors are in their ability to see laser, Valentine Research has really achieved a level of performance that is simply remarkable."

    VeilGuy's Laser Detection Test - July 2009

Winner of laser detection using five different lidar guns (tie)

"Of course, the Valentine remains the champ in laser detection by far and even though the Beltronics STi-R and Escort Passport 9500ci/ZR4 (a laser jammer also) turned in similar detection results, they did it with either multiple heads/transponders or were located more closely to the preferred targeting areas, as they are custom-installed remotes."

Thanks....I didn't realize that the V1 was soooooo much better at laser detection then everything else...that is really important...i know its a long shot still but jammers are illeagal here so the V1 would be better then my RX way better

Actually, laser detection doesn't really matter. Getting a laser alert means you got a ticket. I would look into getting a laser jammer even though they are illegal in your area. There are plenty of people on this forum who use jammers where they are illegal. If you practice the right jamming techniques, you will not be caught with a laser jammer.

Problem is on my Jeep the jammer heads would stick out like a sore thumb and i'd rather not risk it....

Hate to say it but you'll have to drive the PSL then. A radar detector cannot provide adequate protection against police laser. The only sure defense against laser is a laser jammer.
