Yet another question on the quick trigger subject. I'm in an area where I'm not that worried about Q/T (or at least my deffinition it, the quick as you can pull the trigger type.)
All departments I've looked at around here uses vehicle mounted MPH radar (Enforcer, Python, Bee III, among others). They seem to have a rocker switch type control (except the newer ones, they look push button). Does anyone own one of these type units that they can check and see how long it takes for a normal instant on type encounter?
Normally they flip it on and back off when you meet them on the road, but I don't think they hurry, rather a natural speed, but I want to see how long that takes so I can check my 9500ci for I/O alert at distances. I'm trying to find out if I'm going to be forced to run a 9500ci/V1 combo to be safe around here. Or the dreaded third option is there is no protection if its 1 second or less, even the V1 didn't do well at the GOL test at distance, so I may be hosed.
I'd try to test real world, unfortunately they don't seem to ever sit and run I/O around here so that kill testing that way, and trying to chase down a moving squad car after meating one to get hit again doesn't sound very smart either, so I'm pretty limited on real world testing.
