My first ever radar detector purchase was a Rocky Mountain Radar C430. This was about 6 years ago. I was not familiar with the different ones available and I heard on the radio that they would pay for a ticket if you purchase their product with the 1 year rebate program included. I figured it couldn't hurt so I got it for 200+. I'm not a typical speeder, however within a few months I got a ticket. Detector did not alert. I informed the company about this and they wanted to see the info for the ticket. Luckily, it was within the qualifying range so they reimbursed me for about half the ticket (~50). They said that since they don't pay for fees or any other included ticket costs, the 50 would be what I was receiving. A few months later, I got yet another ticket still within the year of original purchase and this time I only got around $20 from RMR. I think this was because unlike the first one, the second was in a different area and they actually give you a detailed breakdown of the fine and thats what RMR needs to assess the check payable amount. Most of it was fees and other crap.
Anyway... I was wondering if after all this time it was possible to return the unit for reimbursement of some kind. I am just finding out that I may be able to do this since the unit is supposedly a radar jammer thus making it illegal to even use on the road. I also think I read something from radar roy. RMR should still have my info in their database.
What do you think?
P.S. I own a V1 now
