Default Any units available that will work from inside a glovebox?

I'm new to the idea of a radar detector, so I apologize if this is a silly question. I've got a charger outlet inside my glovebox. Are there any radar detectors that will work from inside a glovebox?

    In a word? No.

You could get a remote-mounted system and put the display in the glovebox...

The answer is NO. The RD needs a clear view of the road to pick up signals

is there a window from your glovebox to the road? if yes, then any detector will work . but on a serious note, no it will not work.

Did they mention their new offer? Buy any two RMR radar "scramblers," and they'll throw in five acres of land in Texas.

    YES!!!

RMR's units will work as well in the glove box as they do mounted on your windsheild.

It is a good basic question....we all gotta start somewhere.
And as most people said...No it will not work in a glove box.

The 'RMR' they are reffering to is RockyMountainRadar they sell the most BS stuff ever...do not buy a RMR product...unless you want an expensive paperweight...I would have to say I wouldnt even count on them as a paperweight.

'Matt1020' If you would like to flame, go and recieve flaming for being a 'noob' and visit the SDOT forum section... you will cry and never pick on another noob again. (If you are from there....you should know not to corrupt a young forum such as this one.)

Oh I havent visted there in months...But those guys are BRUTAL

Yes , all the rf bands will work , not the laser of course .

But the rf bands will work at a cost = loss of sensitivity , but not by much 10% at much. It is also related to the lenght of the wave , X Ka K reacts differently to the same material .This is why it is so hard to stealth a plane even with millions of $ :radar waves induce an electric current on any metal piece and re-radiate the waves : litterally the car and all the metal components become an antenna.

Why will it work ? Radio frequency bounce everywhere , a fm radio will pickup the waves even deep inside a house. Rf is one of the most difficult radiation to contain. I used to hide my v-1 deep inside the well of ventilation and never failed to alert , but again not laser.
