    Default Name that radar detector!

Does anyone know any info. on a radar detector that on the front
says STALKER where the detector recieves the signal, and it says
LASER SUPERWIDEBAND on the top of the detector? Sorry can't find
a pic for it. I'm asking this because my Grandpa has it and I have
no idea what's it's range, how good is it, let alone who makes it.
Info on this detector would be greatly appreciated thanks.

I don't know too much. From what I have heard about Unidens, they generally didn't have very good range, and falsed a lot...

I got a Uniden like that. There were many different variations on that design. At least it gets superwideband, mine is just wideband... It is very nice and slim and it has a magnesium case. Only if it was a little (okay, a lot) more effective it would be great.

Back in the Passpoet 4500 days Uniden had a model with Passport 4500 guts & body. Lights were a little differente & it lacked some Passport features. Kind of a cheaper Passport.

From your description, that must be a RD9XL. That was a very good RD. It actually won one of Car and Driver's radar detector tests back in the 80s! X and K band only of course. Escort and/or Valentine did not always finish in first place in C&D tests.
