I am on the fence about buying a CB radio. What originally got me interested was the following statement from the CB forum FAQ:
Is this true? That had me virtually convinced to get one because I've already invested in a nice RD, and if a CB radio is supposed to be even more important, there is no reason I shouldn't have one. However, I realize that view probably comes from a CB enthusiast and the same views may not be as strongly shared outside that section, especially because I rarely see CB come up elsewhere, and the Ham/Scanner/CB forum has dramatically fewer topics than the RD sections. I realize it's not really a ">" comparison because they are separate tools with different capabilities. I've only spent a day learning about CB since I stumbled across the CB forums and feel like I need just a little more opinion before I submit my order on the equipment I picked out.The CB is considered the absolute best traffic enforcement countermeasure available on the open highway. It is rated more important than even a radar detector.
