I currently do not own a RD but really want to get one ASAP. I know the top dog detectors out there are the V1, Redline and 9500ix (ci). I just purchased a new 2009 Hyundai Genesis with the Tau 4.6 and boy does this thing move. I've already been pulled over once for speeding (52 in a 35) and didn't even notice the speed I was actually going. I only got a verbal warning from the LEO because I haven't gotten a ticket since '99. SWEET!
I'm not a speed demon by any means and have actually found cruise control at 65mph to be kind of nice, although I'm not afraid to stuff the pedal when need be and I like to "clean" out the exhaust pipes every now and again.
Here are my questions and comments and I hope you guys/gals can direct me in the right direction.
I have access to purchase a used, but like new V1 for under $300 but my only drawbacks are the "falses".
I like the 9500ix because of its "intelligence" feature but would have to buy it at the full msrp price of $499
I am a tweaker in a sense, but don't really want to be fiddling around with the RD 24/7 every time I go to the mall or strip mall because frequencies used there. The 9500ix would be able to figure this out and block them.
So is the $200 savings over convenience worth it? To me its not, but I wanted to find out what you all think.
Thanks for reading and answering my questions in advance.
On an other note - I will have this car for 5 years or more, so would you recommend a full installed system including laser jammer? Again, I'm not a speed demon but just want to protect myself. Is the money justified?
