Default What do you mean here Roy?

    http://www.radarbusters.com/products...sti_driver.asp

The STi Driver includes full X, K, SuperWide Ka and the Safety Warning System, with front and rear (360 degree) protection, dual LNA (low noise amplifier) microwave receiver, digital signal processing (DSP) for superior range and reduced false alarms......

360 Degree Protection enables the detector to detect threats front, rear and to the side

... mmmmmmmmm well Got a friend that tells me his uniden has got 360 protection too .Now we all know this is talking about laser but he swears black and blue that its radar as well you just cant tell him. you know what if you are talking about 360 protection from radar wouldnt you think arrows would be good? I really do think this is misleading to the average driver
At best you could tell them protection from what. Im sure it will pick radar from behide but a true warning this i find it hard to agree with.

I totally agree with the post above. I HATE when the CUSTOMER is being MISLEAD. Like they say "what comes around goes around" and they have literally taken it to a new extreme.......360 degree protection :?

    Q. What is the difference between 360 protection and TRUE 360 protection
    A. A FRONT AND REAR ANTENNA and ARROWS, that´s TRUE 360 protection and the other is MARKETING!

Some members here will probably give it a thorough test?

    The STi's "antennae" look forward.

But microwaves reflect off everything, and if you got hit to the rear your STi would alert you in any real world situation.

Saying that Bel is wrong for touting "360 degree protection", then VR is also wrong on the same account. Two antennae still doesn't mean an infinite amount of antennae...

Also look at the rear antenna of a V1, it's very small, it's field of vision must be very narrow.

it's 360 protection the only band that the protection won't be that high is on Ka K and X will be the same as the V1 giver or take a few feet.

Give or take a few miles more like pal. My detector dealer Informs me the sti has a 20% increase in Ka rang on the 65 so that would mean its gonna eat the V1 on ka front detection . So yeah its rear detection will be better than bell has ever had before i agreed, But dont sit there on your fat white mud flaps and talk down to the V1 zomies making out you know this and that when it hasnt even been released yet you great puddy jumper. After your 2500 post one would think that you would know this is the V1 forum and we dont tip bell boy's around here.

20% eh? I wonder if that will be anything like the 50% increase between the 8500 and the X50

Yes front and back antennae is alot closer to 360 than a front antennae only mate, and if you live with a V1 your will agree 360 protection it has, the arrows show you that front side and then rear see 360 8) . The V1 rear detection is as good as the front. the rear antennae... "it's field of vision must be very narrow.[/quote]" I dont think so cause it seems to get around the back seats, people, cars, trucks, house's infact if you cover the antennae it still seems to detect - a few bars less 8) . So i dont think size has anything to do with it :? . I'm starting to think that the detection size of the the V1 rear antennae is about the same size of a front bell antennae  almost anyway.
