I think you can find that in your local hardware store, I remember seeing it, its just a suction cop with a hook on the end. Anyways I so happened to run accross something similar yesterday at amazon.

What's wrong with velcro? I had mine on the windshield during the summer knowing I would have to move it come winter. If I mounted mine on the windshield it would be right over the defrost vents, and I would think that the heat could cause a malfunction.
And for me I usually turn the laser detection off anyways due to the fact that I live next to a major airport.

So line of sight out the front and rear windows is only significantly important for laser, and less important for radar detection?

I'm guessing that it is okay for radar if it is mounted slightly below or to the side of a clear shot out the front and back glass...correct? (don't want to get into the debate of whether high or low is better...I'm just asking if it is okay if for radar you have body parts or a rear seat in the direct line of sight.)

For radar, on the Belscorts it doesn't matter if something is blocking the rear of the detector. The only way these detect radar from the rear by it being reflected off of terrain in front of the vehicle. For the V1, things blocking the rear can effect the rear antenna, and also the arrows.

the defroster heats will not be as bad at the summer heat...just my opinion

I was hoping to see someone was making some nice brackets that can hang off the rearview mirror for a beautiful clean hardwire install...

haha if anyone ponies up the money for that POS you odviously hate your detector - and I'm sure you'll see Service Required Immediality when you hurt its feelings!

My V1 always gets a cozy seat inside my warm house on these cold days - and is always happy to give the best detection when I ask it to do so...

If I put it on of those I'd not be suprised to see it just throw its self off the windshield to a shattered death
