    Default Old Killer K55 Radar

    Bob,

In your review you with NJ State Police you mentioned this 15 year old technology the K55 by MPH. Speaking of the devil there are a few on sale on Ebay.

I am almost tempted to buy one myself and conduct X band tests

Go for it I say..I would love to see some instant-on tests with it!..Oh you may want to get the K-band version of it thou since most police are probably using that instead of the x-band unit..

Funny you mention that. i was on ebay last night looking at radar guns. that one decatur is a decent price, but it's not a handheld.
i want to get ahold of a k band gun to do some comprehensive tests on all three modes of the V1, to finally put to rest how well the"automute" feature works (or doesn't).
At first i was going to just do some impromptu tests in town near false sources, but i'm thinking of full blown testing, to include highway in all modes, city with/ w/o falses, etc..
if i can't borrow one around here, then i'll watch ebay for a decent deal. worse case when i'm done, i'll just re-list it.

I was thinking about the K55 because Bob said in his review how lethal this 15 year old technology still is.

    Default X band

I live in NJ and X band detection has never been a problem for me. Yes, the occasional instant on is present, but most of the time police in NJ will shoot radar every 15-20 seconids at cars. I have a bel vector 970, and I get plenty of warning, up to 2 miles with x band! Even when the cop is facing the same direction of traffic, as long as you have a few people in front of you, detection is not a problem.
