Cobra radar detectors.
RMR "detectors".
I have read somewhere that credit card machines being used in places like convienient stores use satalite communications. They use frequencies in the Ka Band, but I don't remeber the specific frequency. If my memory serves me correct, I think they are also using frequencies in the Ku Band as well, although not an issue for us.
Also, I read this a long time ago. Might have been talking about companies applying for the use of satalite communications for credit card machines. If anyone can expand, please do.
Outside Independence Hall when the Constitutional Convention of 1787 ended, Mrs. Powel of Philadelphia asked Benjamin Franklin, "Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?" With no hesitation whatsoever, Franklin responded, "A republic, if you can keep it."

A very strong K band can put out an image that will make your RD think it has found Ka band.
Even high-end detectors can mistake K for Ka when it is strong enough. ==
