    Default RX45

I don't know if someone has seen this or asked before but I just notice Beltronics is selling the Qi45 as the RX45..I don't understand why Beltronics version is $50 more than Escort's with no additional features!

Edit...I just noticed the raised the Qi45 from $499 to $549 also.

Does RX45/QI45 detect laser without the shifter pack like the STI-R? It seems the front of the antenna is from another material.

Yes they do...I had a Qi45 for a while and it picked up laser pretty good only because it was mounted in the grill right where laser shot are at.

Good catch, they just keep making that detector look worse and worse.

A $550 X50... that you cannot take between vehicles... oh well there are enough brilliant consumers out there it will likely sell decently.

Actually I owned a Qi45 for a couple weeks. It acts just like the 9500i..Ramp-up,Detection and Sound.

I like the installed detectors. If you leave a detector in the windshield you may not find it there when you get back to the car. An installed detector is stealth and you don't have to worry about the thieves.
I've owned a whistler 3450 for 3 years when detectors were not legal in my country.
Non detectable windshield detectors are a joke. They are not detectable but they are very visible.
There is another inconvenient with the installed detectors. The antenna is exposed to extreme temperatures and humidity. In some regions their life might be shorter.
I would buy a RX or QI 45, but the price is to high. 400$ would be a correct price.

I assume to tones and voice and ramp up will be the same.

If they were smart they would offer the Escort in blue and the Bel in Red.

    +2 there.

    For $499 it wasn't even a deal, for $549 it's a joke.

I disagree. Even though they perform the same, you can't compare the cost of an X50 to the cost of these remotes. The manufacturing cost of a remote RD is significantly higher than a windshield mounted RD. If you want a decent remote, but don't want to spend $1000+, these M4 remotes are priced nicely. I think nearly everyone here has lost a little perspective, since the discontinued STi-R was priced about the same as these new M4 remotes, but remember the STi-R was $1100 before it was discontinued. These M4 remotes cost half that.

I look at it as the same performance you get from an X50 for over $200 more, doesn't make sense to me.
