Well I just bought a used Valentine on Ebay for $290. I hope it works out. I will get it next week.

What model is your V1 from ebay?

If you haven't checked yet, you might want to call, or e-mail Valentine and give them your serial number to see if it was stolen. On ebay, you never know. If it has, you'll never be able to have it serviced. Your SOL.

Fwiw. You could've bought a returned V1 (You can't tell a returned one from new) from Valentine for $359.00 with full warranty.

The new one's are 3.872. Hey, we all live and learn. I've been there myself.

Wow, I've bought prolly 24 or 25 of them, never had a bad one unless I knew it was bad when I bought it. Bought a V1.7 one time WITH a concealed display, all accessories, in the box, for $50 busted. Sent to VR, had a "new" V1.7 with CC for $95.

Also bought a 3.872 in the box with receipt and all access. for $185 plus shipping one time. Sold that one for a quick profit.
