    Default Uniden LRD 6399sw

My grandfather just gave me a Uniden LRD 6399sw unit because he does not use it anymore. He paid $100 bucks for it way back in the day. How good is this RD?

He doesn't have the manual for it only the cord and the suction cups. He said that it was really good at Laser and that's all he could remember because he hasnt used it in 8 years.

Any of you know anything about this RD? I'd really like to know. I've never even heard of "Uniden" before.

Well, it's better than nothing, but not my much. I would expect it to be pretty similar to your Whistler.

I have one it is in the drawer I went from the Uniden to a Cobra ESD-9850 to a Whistler 1793 SE and now have a V-1.
The Whistler 1793 falses alot more than the Uniden. The Uniden in its day at that time was suppose to be one of the top performers which is why I got it. I'm trying to decide now if I should return the Whistler 1793 SE back for a full refund of $125???

    Default Uniden

Laser detection is OK, will pick it up from more than 1 KM.
Ka sensitivity is poor compared to modern units.

My Uniden LRD 6399SW gave me less alot less false alarms than the newer Whistler 1793 SE that I had. I just returned the 1793 SE for a 100% refund because of too many falses. Even though the Uniden is dated I would still take it over any whistler detector.
