    Default K Band Frequency

There is a cruiser around here that my STi cant seem to pick up until im right on top of the leo. I ran across him again today and got like 15ft warning Its gotta be an eagle k-band, but im not sure tho. and every time i pass him the detector only goes up to half alert.
So today I put the STi in TEC. mode and it fluctuated between 24.173-24.180. Would this be considered an out of tune radar or you guys think that my STi is losing it? K-band "seems" to be fine in every other situation, its just this one cruiser that it acts up. If his radar is outta tune, would he still be able to still get a speed reading?

So any idea why the Sti cant sniff this guy out until im like 5ft away? Every other cruiser in the dept. with k-band radar gets like .75-1mile of detection.

And its not IO. This guys was driving behind me today and would only get alerted if i got close to him.

What are the readings of the other freq. of the other K band radars? Why I ask this, if the other radars are reading on the lower side of K band, there may be a slight tolerance error in the electronics with a wrong freq. showing and/or a shift in the Q-factor by which this one signal is on the edge of the upper end of K band with low -db gain. Could just be a low power radar but not likely...

When the Belscorts fluctuate like that, it often means there is more than one source. I can come up on speed signs on opposite sides of the street and have spec mode bounce back and forth ... at least until it locks on to the strongest signal. I can't explain the weak range though.

That doesn't sound right at all, that frequency is well inside K band. Your STi probably needs servicing. Please contact our service department

Every other cruiser is dead on .125 except this one. i was also thinking low power radar. or the radar antenna might be cockeyed in the leo's car. i travel this road almost everyday and there are no falses on this stretch. really cant explain the fluctuating On every other encounter Britney(my STi) seems to sniff out k-band from the other side of the world!

Maybe he left his radar gun running on the passenger seat.
