I made the trip across PA this weekend to my girlfriend's school and realized that there is a problem with my v1. It is definitely struggling against Ka. The longest detection range was .4 miles. PA has plenty of drones along Interstate 80 and 99 so it had plenty of chances to prove that it was not performing as it should. Now thankfully K band appears to be okay because a trap where the trooper was running C/O I was able to pick up over a mile before hand and it also seemed to do the usual vs the K band drones.
So it definitely needs to go to v1 for a tune up which just doesn't make sense to me because the detector isn't even a year old yet. Does anyone know what can lead to the detector going out of tune?
So my issue is this: should I try out the Redline or just send the v1 in for a tune. The long detection range has been calling my name ever since I heard the reviews. What scares me though is the PSP use of I/O. I don't want to miss a shot because it was too short for the Redline to pick up. Now I doubt the PSP are really using quick trigger tactics but they do not hold the trigger long when shooting and I don't want it to be an issue. Also I'm not sure what I would do with my v1; whether to tune it up and sell it on eBay to recoup some of the cost of the Redline or to get it tuned up and hang on to it. I have a Beltronics v940 that I can trade in to take some money off of the Redline but will that give me the full $80 off?
Thanks for any help you can give me sorry for the long post
