Default Is V1 really the best? X50/RX65 can't beat it?

I can't decide which one to buy for new year's gift.

I heard V1 is the only radar with 2 radar antennas that can give you protection from cops shooting from the rear.

This fact alone is a huge plus to V1 in my opinion, if escort and bel doesn't have this protection..

    any thoughts?

Bell and Escort dont have rear antenna's but they will still give you enough rear protection. My personal preference is the V1 but you can always try both and return the one you don't like within 30 days.

If you can afford it get a new v1 the x50 is also a great detector!

I gotta admit I was a big fan of the x50 for a long time until I tried the latest version of the V1. Just last night the arrows came in handy, as I was exiting the freeway off ramp and took a left onto a main road the v1 gave a k band brap for a second, the rear arrow lit & then the v1 fell silent again(trooper running instant on trying to nab passing cars)! Not too long after I slowed down (a few minutes) a WSP car drove passed me!

thanks for opinions. I still can't justify spending more than $100+ more for V1.

    or is it worth it?

I think it's worth it, for two reasons (the two reasons I bought it for):

    The arrows.

The upgradeability...I know I'll never have to buy a brand new radar detector again.

I'd have to second that. Until you've seen the arrows in action, it's hard to see how they will help you. Once you've had a Ka alert and the arrows point behind you, it all becomes clear.

The Zombification virus cannot be stopped!

    muhahhaha, muhahaha, muwahah!

btw I never imagined holein1 to become a proponent of the V1 after reading his prior postings, but I guess opinions change, I used to think the V1 was all hype, now Im sending back my 8500 X50 to most likely get a V1 or my other less likely option exchange for an RX65.

But if I buy the antilaser Roy will be my retailer for sure.
