Was driving today with my 8500 X50 on a 2 lane highway. 5 or 6 cars were in front of me, about 5-6 car lengths between each car, including me and the car ahead of me. Met a GSP, no alert until he was on top of me, and hit me with I/O k band.
He was not using "quick trigger" method because when he did hit me it was a solid 3-4 second burst. I see no reason why I should not have picked him up while he was shooting the cars ahead of me, we were all traveling the psl, and I was not moving any faster then any other car, so I see no logical reason for why he would have only shot me.
I'm now worried my detector is falling out of tune, even though I've had 2 great ka saves this week. Anybody experienced anything similar or have any theories on what could have happened.
Also, I have 4 options now, continue to run my X50 and see if detection really is sub par (risky because I have a road trip to the beach coming up in about 2 weeks). Go ahead and send my X50 in for a tune up and buy a refurb to run as a backup while without detector, or buy a new redline or V1 (still not sure what side of the fence I'm on concerning the V1 vs Redline debate). The only reason I'm considering buying a new detector, is because by the time I buy a refurb and pay to send mine in, I'm almost half way to a new (better) detector. But up until this point I have been very satisfied with my X50 and I'm not sure I'm ready to write it off.
I know opinions will be everywhere on this, but I appreciate yall's input.
