    In general:

A more sensitive detector will have more "falses".
A less sensitive detector will have less "falses".

    So:

-To make a less sensitive detector sound good, it is said to have "good
    filtering".
-To make a more sensitive detector sound bad, it is said to have "poor filtering".

I love it when people USE FACTS instead of EMOTIONS! Thanks jimbonzzz for giving me a little more faith on the forum as a WHOLE.

So you are saying that my Radio Shack POS from a couple years ago that was falsing all the time has better sensitivity than my RX65 or X50?

    I agree...

In true comparison testing, the detectors should be in the same spot on the windshield and level (using a level to do it).

I'd like for you to point out the reviews - that are declaring the x50 as the detector of the year. If its anything from Carl Fors, then those dont count - the man only makes test criteria to tarnish the name of the V1.

Just curious where you are basing your opinion that the rave was for the X50 this year.

I've owned all 3 this year and I can tell you hands down the V1 walks away the champion!

    Looks are definitely subjective...

But most people would like the looks, blue LEDs, text and overall aesthetics of the X50 over the V-1.

Even on this board, there are a lot of people who have posted that the V-1 has too much of a boxy / military / 1970s look to it.

    Jim,

I drive the same Freeway every day. My old RadioShack POS and my Whistler Pro 58 would both K false for a good 30 seconds when driving a certain part of it like clockwork. The Pro58 all the way up to 9/9 strength. I can't even say where it was coming from. There is a cell phone tower right there, other antennae towers right there, and plenty of stores like Home Depot and Best Buy etc.

Anyway, my RX65 and X50 both completely "filter" those falses out. I don't know what "filtering" technology they use, but it has made my drive much more enjoyable.

I have been getting great range on real K threats with my Belscorts. I had one today in the City that was almost 2 miles (and partly around a corner!) on a K band sign. I don't believe that the RadioShack or Pro58 have better range or filtering than my X50 or RX65.

I never said the V1 wasn't the best of the 3 preformance wise. Just when you add in features and price with preformance. The x50 does it for me. Does the v1 have the best range? Yes I belive it does

    Default X50 comments...

I have an x50 - RED even!! oh no!! no idea what V5 difference is... anyway.
Mine trips Ka like clockwork. Every laser I have even seen it has screamed at me. Even travelling and suddenly the POP result screams at me for a second or two. It has been fine for me. Saved me many old town 'to cheap for laser' tickets. The longest detection is a habit. The detector screams for K and Ka before I can even see a cop car. That in my book is love baby.... Now, Veil and LaserDefender (AntiLaser US version) is in my sights. Has anyone attempted a purchase overseas and bring it back to US??? I work for a large corp....have many friends in many places... If I have no Laser Jamming system...it seem I should wait for laserddefender? I just want to do 140 on the no traffic open highway without wondering if he's sitting around the corner....

No see you don't want a Radar or Laser detector/jammer....you want that new invisible car, with the brand new 'LEO' detector installed

At 140(mph)? on a 65(mph)? highway...you will get caught sooner or later, and rightly so.
