    Default New Radar Detectors?

Has there been any rumors of any new radar detectors any time soon?

I am wanting to upgrade, but want a cross between the Escort and Valintine.

Like Valintine for the range, direction arrows and QT/IO, but don't like because it looks like it belongs in a Back the Future movie. (come into the 90s please) And it is rather chatty in the city from what I hear.

I like the Escort (9500ix) because it can detect Redlight and Speed Cameras as well as ability to lock out falses. Its range looks to be good (Although not as good as the Valintine exept in Ka which is common where I live). The downfall is its QT/IO ability.

So was wondering if I should upgrade to one of these now, or I can wait until something new comes out if it is not too far down the road?

Here is how I travel most of the time.... 50% hwy 50% city. Redlight cameras are in my state, but are a civil ticket only. No Speed Cameras....Yet anyways.

I currently have a Bel RX65, and want to know if I should wait until something new comes out or should I get one of the 2 mentioned above? How is the detection range compared to my Bel RX65 (USA MODE) compared to the above as well. Again....I want to wait if something better is in the works....I realllllly want a detector that works like the Escort with the QT/IO of the V1.

Does the RX65 doe well on IO/QT?

Last thing....Is QT/IO used that much, in other words should it be a deal breaker? From what I hear it can have accuracy issues, so are tickets actually given from its use?

Sorry for such a long post, but any help would be appreciated.

I don't think anything new is coming out for a while.

I'd recommend the V1 due to range, arrows, bogey counter and SUPERB I/O-Q/T detection.

I would check the radar bands used by town link and see what they use by you.

Thanks for the link and the post.....I actually know what they use by me, and it isn't good. I get K, Ka, Laser, Vas(from what I read the other day), and in some smaller towns I think even X. But other than that I am good.

I am lucky that the RLC are only Civil tickets but the yellows on those light last about a second. And no speed cameras yet.

Well, I still recommend the V1, lol. If you want get the Escort and V1 and use the 30 day trails and keep the one that you like.

    I assume you're in PA?

Texas. I want a V1, but with the 50% city I was concerned about the falsing. But if I get the Escort I will be concerned about the lack of IO/QT. That is kind of why I was hoping a new detector might be in the works from V or Escort. I would like the best of both worlds. I know....I ask too much.

You need a V1 for Texas highway driving imo- even though it's really chatty in town.

I just wonder if you have seen a V1 or just pics of it. I love the look of them myself. Much smaller than pictures make it look.

It may look like it belongs in a Back to the Future movie, but the arrows are so valuable.
I don't know about new models, but right now you can't have everything.

Thing is 50% is in Town....and a very very big town. Will a V1 drive me nuts with the falses in town? I can't handle that thing going off all the time. I assume it has an "auto mute" feature? If so I might can handle it.

Is IO/QT used by LEOs in TX often? I know V1 owners love them, but I am affraid of going back to the days of my old Whistler.....talking all the time, but with nothing to say when I see a LEO. Of course minus the not seeing the LEO part with the V1.

Anyone who has owned both post some pros and cons (I know this has been done in other threads, but with my 50/50 driving and taking into account my concerns with each)?

I guess my original post was about any plans for new detectors in the near future (say next 2 years), and that was NO (anyone hear different?), so now do I want a V1, 9500ix, or I am open to others. I am not one of those guys who cares who makes my RD as long as it works and works well.

You V1 people are very helpful. Any Escort (or other) have any suggestions?

Something else...is it even worth getting a new RD if I already have a Bel RX65? Will the newer models from V1 and Escort be worth it.

    thanks

That's very true. I was very surprised at the size of it when I got mine in. The videos and pictures make it look very big and bulky.
