    Default FCC gives RMR fine!

I got an email from RMR (an advertisement) for their c-450 saying it is the last time that you can purchase them and there is a strict limit of 2. Apparently the FCC is finally starting to put the hammer on these crooks. Anyone know any details about this?

That would be fitting, since that's what RMR gives their customers!

Somebody else posted something similar a few weeks ago.
The consensus was like they (RMR) were saying, "even though our stuff works, we can't make it anymore because of the gov".
It's a wonder they are even still in business.

Ironically my Dad got one of these cards in the mail with his name spelled wrong while I was in the middle of testing that RMR-C475 I borrowed. Where they got his name I have no idea. It says that the RMR-C450 is "100% effective" or something like that, that the FCC is making them stop producing it, there are limited quantities etc.

The problem is we all know the RMR-C450 will be back with restyled casing as an RMR-C460 or something as soon as they update the line. The other problem is they feed upon the publicity. I'd guess maybe a small educated minority know they don't work. To anyone else they're just another brand. If the FCC bans the product RMR spins it into making it look like their device works and the FCC is after them because the product is so good.

Now they ship them to the consumers with the scrambler deactivated making the consumer turn it on to try and dance around the laws. As far as that RMR-C475 I messed around with, it has FCC certification, so I posted the number on the bottom on here. When someone posted the link I looked at what they submitted. That model and sibling C450 and C435 were clearly submitted without the scrambler on because the scrambler leaks noise that interferes with CB radios. The manuals submitted make no mention of the scrambler, the diagrams no mention of it. Obviously they don't want the FCC to know about it, but shouldn't the FCC have questioned why it has two antennas?

Anyway they charge an awful lot for a product whose biggest redeeming factor I could find was the winshield mount.

I just poked around on their web site. They are claiming under 'scrambler', "New 50% Increase in Laser Scrambling Power"...
Now that's a new one on me. Actually, their existence may help with the "laser jammers do not work" theme.

    More ad line from RMR:
Scrambles All Laser Guns (Pro-Laser, LTI, Laser-Lyte, and Stalker).

When did they start posting this junk?

They've been claiming that since the original Phazer. The Phazer and all subesquent models had two LEDs for jamming laser. The 50% increase is adding a 3rd LED as was with that RMR-C475. I guess its brighter when you photo it on a digital camera when compared to the two LEDs (since I have that RMR-C302 to compare it to).

This will likely do nothing to Laser guns IMHO. Feel free to test it. I don't run across laser often enough to have been able to while I had the C475, plus disabling the Lazer Zapper and Blinder (which unlike the RMR might do something) would have been enough of a headache.
