Default Anyone know what technology this mobile speed camera uses

The speed camera pictured in the attachment (can't seem to attach-check optotraffic dot com for picture) is popping up everywhere in Prince Georges County, Maryland. The units are manufactured by Optotraffic and appear to use Lidar technology, though I'm not sure what technology is used. I got a mail ticket from one of these. It appears I passed one with my GX65 mounted and did not get an alert. No X, K, Ka, Lidar alert. Nothing. I have driven past several of these units with the detector mounted low, mid, and high and still no alert. I even passed the units mounting my V940 s7 antennae and still received no alerts.

It appears that the only defence so far may be by way of the camera database contained in the GX65 and 9500ix, but these type of mobile, though stationary cameras are not located in the database yet. Here is a picture of the camera attached.

Any help in identifying band type and countermeasures would be appreciated.
I am concerned that with the proliferation of these things, I will drive by one at a new location not known to me and get another mail ticket. Had to break up post since for some reason wouldn't let me post all in one post.

From what I’ve read it is a laser based technology.

So that's what those are. I've seen a lot of those in maryland. I thought they were for monitoring traffic. I got a laser alert and it said PL3, i thought it was a false.. Makes sense. I wasn't speeding.. but i guess that's what set my LI off.

I'm not going to speed past one to see if the jammers will protect you.

Just slow down when you see one..

You should have a decent radar detector anyways.

it's a plate scanner.nothing to worry about unless you have bad plates or suspended license.

Thanks for responding. Lidar base is what I gather. I drive an SUV and maybe the Lidar signal, I presume shot from behind, is not reaching the Lidar reciever on the detector. I'm just concerned I did not get an alert.

Thanks for responding. If it is Lidar based, what does it matter what kind of detector if it shoots your rear after you have passed. I don't believe there is any reflection or refraction of Lidar beam signals from that close proximity that would reach any detector, even the supposed mighty V1. From what I see, it appears the Lidar beam may be pointed down at an angle from above. If so, any alert would be after the fact as a ticket notifier. I was just concerned I did not get any alert. As a matter of fact, with the V940, I have received an actual Lidar alert from an officer that I was able to see and identify shooting Lidar at me. I did not get a ticket because I was not speeding that much over the PSL, I presume. I did however, brake hard and reach the PSL as soon as I heard the voice Laser from the V940.

Thanks for responding. It's not a plate scanner. I know for a fact it is a speed measuring device. I've done extensive research to determine what they are. There are articles that indicate that it is a speed measuring device. Search google for Optotraffic and you will see that they manufacture and operate the devices for the municipalities. I just couldn't figure out the speed measuring technology. I thought the technology was Lidar based, but wasn't exactly certain, hence the post. If it is in fact Lidar based, and because of the angle and direction of the beam, maybe LI's may offer additional protection as these devices are not being included in the Trinity database which the 9500ix, GX65, and 9500ci use for RLC and speed camera identification.
