Default Do you think this would work?

Ok, this is my plan for my new radar setup I want to get over the next few months. Now it may seem a bit much, but I like big projects, escpecially on my car. So this is what I'd like to do.

I want to hardwire a redline above and on the left side of the rvm. I would have the redline set on Ka and K only,(X, Laser and pop off). Then hardwire a used bel 995 to the right of the rvm with everything off EXCEPT X. I have to worry about X band when I got to Columbus, MS. I would have the 995 off except for when I get to the Ms border.

Then, since I already have a V940 and dont want to leave it out . I was thinking I could mount it on the backglass (I have a Subaru Outback) Facing backwards. I would also hardwire in and extend the smart cord so the mute button is in the front with the others. Also what I would want to do is remove the display on the 940 and install it in the dash if that would be possible, so I could see the alerts without having to look back.

So I know it seems wayyyy over the top. And yall would say "just leave X on the redline". But I dont want to have to change the redline settings everytime I hit Ms, and dont want it constanly falsing around town. And it gives me something to do, and an excuse to buy and extra detector But would it work?? Would the 995 and the Redline interfear with each other??

P.S. Dont tell me "just get a V1" lol. I have decided to go with the Redline.

Never run more than 1 detector in the same vehicle. Never. Period. End of story.

I think the OP intends to shut one of them off and the other one on every time he crosses the state line.

The rear unit is probably not a good idea, however.

A cool gadget would be a GPS-activated switch that would power one RD off and the other on automagically.

I don't think so. He said...

If he were talking about running only one at a time, that would mean running ONLY x-band in MS, which would make no sense.

But yeah, if you only have one on at a time, no problems.

So the the M4 antenna in the 995 would interfear with the M3 in the redline. I wasnt sure with the redline having the M3 antenna if you could run another RD set for X-band only in the same car.

Shutting off bands only changes what the RD alerts to, not what it actually receives. So yes, interference is still quite probable.

I read the post again, and although he mentions leaving the 995 off until he hits the MS border, he doesn't say he'll turn the Redline off at that point. OP please clarify so we can properly chastise you if needed.
